Shplingiano Family

The Shplingianos are a wealthy family who built a luxury suitcase empire, led by the matriarchal Hilda Shplingiano.

Shplingiano Inc.

Shplingiano Inc. is the luxury suitcase brand owned by the Shplingiano Family.

Venezia Deluxe Double-Door Roller Armoire

The Venezia Deluxe Double-Door Roller Armoire is the flagship product of the Shplingiano Inc. range, initially masterminded by Nathan Shplingiano.

BTS x Shplingiano

The BTS x Shplingiano range is Hilda's latest big release for Shplingiano Inc., including stunning products such as the Suga Sweet Nylon Travel Bag, the J-Hope-You-Have-A-Nice-Flight Sleepmask, or the Life Goes On (A Plane) Luxury Luggage Strap, among others.

Hilda Shplingiano
Bevans

Hilda is the powerful director of Shplingiano Inc. and matriarch of the Shplingiano family. She's always been a no-nonsense leader, happy to make the tough calls that she thinks need to be made — no quinoa in the office, for example (she's deathly allergic). She's kind, too, but only when it doesn't get in the way of business. Her tough approach to the corporate world may have taken its toll, though, because Hilda has suddenly announced she is retiring at her upcoming 65th birthday.

Geraldo Shplingiano
Bouvoir

Geraldo is the gentle, unassuming husband of Hilda Shplingiano. The two met at a travel expo - Hilda selling her suitcases, Geraldo representing a plane food company - and fell in love immediately. They married a year later, Geraldo taking Hilda's name (he was struck by its power). He never took part in the business, spending his time raising the children and building model planes. Is he happy with the arrangement, or does resentment bubble beneath?

Nathan Shplingiano
Declan

Nathan is the eldest (and favourite) child of Hilda and Geraldo. He proved to be a genius business prodigy, but inexplicably left his family and fortune behind to attempt a solo sailing circumnavigation of the world. After a few years with no contact, he was presumed dead. Six years after he departed and just weeks before his mother's sixty-fifth birthday, he's back — is it too convenient to be a coincidence?

Avery Shplingiano
Elaina

Avery is the artistic and slightly tortured wife of Nathan Shplingiano. The two have been together since university, and she stuck with the family even after his disappearance — but is it out of love for Nathan or love for her generous allowance?

Alessia Shplingiano
Claude

Alessia is the eldest daughter of Hilda and Geraldo, and the second of the lot. She's quick, put-together, and competent, but she has always felt like her mother favoured Nathan...

Gelly Shplingiano
Vita

Gelly (full name Shplingelina) is the third of the Shplingiano children, and a full-on rebel. She hands out pamphlets. Gelly loves her family, of course, but doesn't have an issue raising (quite loudly) her concerns about some of the more questionable parts of the Shplingiano Inc. manufacturing processes.

Dylan Shplingiano
Lucas

Dylan is the youngest and, according to him, most successful of the Shplingiano children. He's a self-described entrepreneur with extensive 'crypto-psychnet non-fungible portfolios' and 'decentralised virtual market chains'. Dylan has always believed he was born to be in charge. He has the aspirations, but perhaps not the patience...

Courtney Bourt
Jay

Courtney is Hilda's sister. She might not quite have reached the glamorous heights of her sister, but she has a very comfortable life working at the library with her husband Crunswick — but comfortable doesn't mean content...

Crunswick Bourt
George

Crunswick is Courtney's husband — a man full of passion and lust... for metal detecting. He works at the library with his wife and lives at home with his wife and eats at Donnie's Doner Diner on Tuesday nights with his wife and he definitely hopes NONE OF THAT EVER CHANGES.

Willy Sifilis
Warwick

Willy is Hilda's oldest collaborator, working at Shplingiano Inc. for thirty-nine of its forty years. He handles most of the day-to-day business matters, as well as chipping in with higher-level market strategy. He's a bit of a prickly man, but Hilda took a liking to him. Thrity-nine years is a long time to be number two, though, and Willy is ready for something new...

Kim Bimboni
Amy

Kim is Hilda's personal assistant and among her closest advisors — even contributing in the marketing department sometimes. Emails, phone calls, letters? Hilda doesn't have to touch any of them. Still, control of virtually all of the director's communications is a powerful thing in the wrong hands...

Nisha Algeria
Izzy

Nisha is Shplingiano Inc.'s corporate legal lead, but also Hilda's personal lawyer. Countless lawsuits have gone in Shplingiano Inc.'s favour thanks to her creativity. If Nisha can twist the law against the company's enemies, is there any reason she couldn't do the same against her own?

Mordan-Bomm Müller
Tom

Mordan-Bomm is an old neighbour and family friend of Hilda and Courtney who had the brains to stay close. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the brains for much else. Nominally, he has a job at Shplingiano Inc., but no one expects him to actually do anything. If he could describe himself in one word, it might be 'ELEGANT LORD OF FASHION'. If anyone else was picking, they'd pick 'TWAT'.

Loyle Cervante
Bailey

Loyle is the butler and head of staff of the Shplingiano household. No floor is mopped nor napkin folded without Loyle knowing about it. But with such knowledge comes power... could it be used for ill?

Kiki Andersson
Jacq

Kiki is the Shplingianos' housemaid. She's particularly close with Hilda and Gelly, and often finds herself tidying them up after their arguments than she does tidying anything else. She keeps her cards close to her chest... and she's good at poker.

Josephina Moroni
Zoe

Josephina is the household chef. She spends most of her time in the kitchen, so no one knows much about her. The food does the talking: the Shplingiano household is the only residential building in the world with a Michelin star. It's always Hilda in the press, though, not Josephina... don't bite the hand that feeds you, they say — but what if that hand stabs you in the back?
